from “the Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, 1899,”

“Das Reich” (the Kingdom) is the title of the work I presented in the exhibition “Achtung! Achtung! “

My vision is a detail of what happened in Europe and throughout the world between 1938 and 1945 at the hands of Nazi power.

The madness of those dramatic years can be represented as a disposophobic expression of reality, as to say through the pathological accumulation of objects.

We all are impressed by the lavish number of items that were seized from the prisoners of the concentration camps: thousands of personal belongings piled in macabre trophies.

Starting from these atrocious “installations”, I reinterpreted the Nazi madness where the commander of the SS is caught in the act of ordering its new fetishes. In his left hand he holds a white fox skin that is attributable to the number 56, yet present on the wall, and that, according to the book of dreams stands for achieved and discovered deceptions.

Through a sound reconstruction of  both objects and environments I re-created the auditory perception of the commander I order to give the viewer the opportunity to enter fully into his own dimension.

A dreamlike vision that evokes a nightmare that lies deep down all of us. A message that may appear surreal but where everything is authentic and contemporary.

The time has stopped and I can not awake from the nightmare, the sleep of Europe is profound and the night never gets over.
